Walnut Creek Downtown Trick-or-Treat
October 24, 2014 2-5pm. Enjoy some candy at participating retail shops in Downtown Walnut Creek! Be sure to wear your costume and participate in the festivities.
Howl-ooo-ween At Lindsay Wildlife Museum
October 30, 2014 5:30-8pm. A great event for young families to enjoy Halloween activities at Walnut Creek’s Lindsay wildlife museum. Costumes, animals, story time, food truck eats, and trick or treat fun. Here’s the flyer: Howl-ooo-ween at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum.
Broadway Plaza Trick or Treat
October 31, 2014 5:30-7:00pm. Treats will be distributed at participating retailers in the Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Again, be sure to wear a costume! Have some fun with it!
Walnut Creek on Ice
November 8, 2014-January 11, 2015. Over at Civic park, the ice skating rink goes up on November 8th. Once the sun goes down, the rink takes on a whole new atmosphere with the brisk night air and lights. What a great way for our community to partake in ice skating. Gourmet East Bay in Walnut Creek
November 1, 2014 7-10pm. What a fantastic event that features 20 restaurants from all over the East Bay. This takes place in at Broadway Plaza downtown, and will feature tastings and pours from great restaurants, wineries and breweries. One of the highlights is a silent raffle and auction that includes some fantastic prizes. One more thing, the proceeds of this event will go to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. Forma Turkey Trot
November 27th, 2014. This delightful event starts over at Civic park, and is sure to delight anyone. Sponsored by Forma Gym, this is the “move your feet before you eat,” event! Over 7,000 runners and walkers from all over the country are expected for this event. By the way, there is a costume element to the event. 😉 More information is at Forma Turkey Trot.
Hike in the Walnut Creek Open Spaces
There are some fantastic trails in the Walnut Creek open spaces. There are a few ridge areas that have trails for getting some outdoor exercise. There are trails at Shell Ridge, Acalanes Ridge and the Sugarloaf area. For recommended hikes in Walnut Creek, visit Walnut Creek Open Space.
The Bend Food Truck
Did you know Walnut Creek has a food truck market?! For a variety of delicious food truck eats, this is a hot spot to hit for lunch near downtown Walnut Creek. There are always great options to choose from. I really like the tacos from the El Ranchero Truck!
Walnut Creek Centennial Celebrations
Walnut Creek has just turned 100 years old! It has been a fantastic centennial year in town, and here we wanted to highlight a couple events coming up soon.
Bike 100 Miles For The Centennial
Bike Walnut Creek challenges you to bike for 100 miles throughout 2014, and this event repeats for people to stack up their miles. This is monthly on the 4th Sunday, so this is coming up October 26, 2014. Folks that reach the 100-mile mark are invited to a party at Sports Basement at the end of the year. Centennial Harvest Festival
On October 26th, 2014 at the Walnut Creek Farmer’s Market, the centennial harvest occurs. The farmer’s market goes from 9am-2pm over on Locust Street downtown. Nothing quite like celebrating our hometown with some delicious produce! Check this page: Walnut Creek Centennial Harvest Festival.
