You need to interview some realtors in your immediate area. And yes, we said “realtors,” as in plural. The interview and selection process is like hiring someone to do a crucial job. Don’t take this lightly, as you need to feel a connection and trust with your Realtor.
One option if you are in the Contra Costa County area, is to call or write our team. Our team has over 20 combined years of real estate experience here in the local area. We are in sync with the pulse of our local real estate market, and can show you how we are well equipped to turn your home sale into a success story. (We use that word “Story,” more as you read on).
We say to get in touch with us directly because you deserve the best service possible. We could have easily put some “auto-home-value-generator,” widget on our website, but there is no way it would be accurate. Zillow, web widgets, and more can’t see your home. They don’t know neighborhood characteristics. They don’t know what draws people to certain areas.
People know these things.

Sounds simple right? If your realtor is like our team, a master calendar is made. In the weeks and months leading up to your home hitting the market, a calendar is decorated with key events and checkpoints of the process.
Are there ever changes or updates to the calendar? Yes of course! That shows we are on top of the entire process for you. Even if you are months away from selling, it is our job to make sure that we revisit your home value along the way. As we evaluate, we can pivot any previously made decisions.
Once we start getting close, we schedule the steps that need to be taken. From any contractors, inspectors, painters, and so on…we collect the bids, help you make the decisions, and get everything scheduled.
We put in these checkpoints where we revisit the value of your home as the market progresses, and we leave the selling price decision until the last minute. This is so the decision is made with the most recent real estate information in your area. This is important because we can keep a focus on both yielding the best possible results for you, while remaining competitive in the marketplace to draw the attention of home buyers. The number home search parameter aside from location, is price. We have more to discuss at a later time about pricing and how buyers search.
The Work Begins
Before you know it, the work is underway. Any contractors you decide to employ will get their work done, along with us popping in to check on them frequently. At the very least, we will recommend a pest inspection. It is considered fairly customary in our area that a seller takes this on prior to coming to market. But this is also strategic. With this information available on the MLS to prospective buyers, we know that when offers do come in that they area serious about the property.
It is a goal that once your home is in contract, it is with truly serious buyers who will see the sale through. We don’t want buyers who will suddenly drop off because they discovered some minor repair needed or something like that. That wastes your time, and the home loses market time.
It’s Almost Time!
Before you know it we are approaching the home being for sale. As final work and cleaning is being done, we are hard at work executing the marketing plan for your home.
Once work is completed and the home is clean, it’s time for photo and video content. We hire professionals to come in and take photos, and use an agency to create our print materials. It’s crucial that your home receives the best marketing care possible in order to generate a successful sale.

Putting the story of your home in front of targeted audiences is paramount to a successful sale. From our observations, many realtors have a spray and pray approach to their online marketing. Simply spewing out information and praying someone picks up on it.
